Sabi Sabi Children's Policy

Bush Lodge & Little Bush Camp
Bush Lodge and Little Bush Camp are both luxurious and well suited to family safaris.
Childrens Rates (2008)
- 2 Years and younger: Stay free of charge in a cot.
- 3 - 5 Years: Sharing with 1 or 2 adults pay R550-00 per child per night.
- 6 - 12 Years: Sharing with 1 or 2 adults pay R1050-00 per child per night.
- 13 - 15 Years: Sharing with 1 or 2 adults pay 50% of the adult rate.
- 16 Years and over: Sharing with 1 or 2 adults will pay adult rate.
Children occupying their own room will pay the full adult rate for a maximum of 1 child (if 4 children sharing the remaining 3 will pay the applicable children's rates).
- Children under the age of 6 years will not be allowed on safaris.
- Children between the age of 3 and 6 years may only accompany their parents / guardians on safari if there is exclusive use of a safari vehicle. The usage of an exclusive vehicle is subject to availability, a surcharge and restrictions at sightings due to possible disturbance to animals and/or guests on other vehicles.
- If Land Rover exclusivity is required and there are less than 6 people on the Land Rover a surcharge will be levied at R850-00 per unoccupied seat per day. Land Rover exclusivity is subject to availability.
- Land Rover exclusivity must be pre-booked and the surcharge, where applicable, will be charged to the extras account.
- Babysitters can be arranged at a minimum rate of R30-00 per child per hour which is to be paid directly to the babysitter.
- Babysitters are to be booked on arrival.
- Children 5 years and younger will not be allowed in the boma for dinner. Dinner will be arranged in the Safari Lounge between 17h00 and 19h00. Breakfast and lunch as per normal with parents / guardians.
- Sabi Sabi reserves the right of allowing or disallowing children on safari for any possible reason and this is at the discretion of the General Manager / Ranger of the vehicle.
- All children's rates quoted are nett and non-commissionable.
Selati Camp & Earth Lodge
Providing there is booking exclusivity of either lodge with family and/or friend's, children may be allowed at the romantic Selati Camp and the exclusive Earth Lodge. The following rates will apply.
Children's Rates (2008)
- 2 Years and younger: Stay free of charge in a cot.
- 3 - 5 Years: Sharing with 1 or 2 adults pay R550-00 per child per night.
- 6 - 12 Years: Sharing with 1 or 2 adults pay R1050-00 per child per night.
Children occupying their own room will pay the full adult rate for a maximum of 1 child (if 4 children sharing the remaining 3 will pay the applicable children's rates).
Children 13 - 15 years sharing their own room will be charged as follows:
- One child at 50% of the adult rate.
- Second child at full adult rate.
Children over 13 years sharing with 1 or 2 adults will be charged at 50% of the adult rate.
Selati Camp can accommodate 2 family rooms with a maximum of 2 children per room.
Earth Lodge can accommodate 3 family rooms with a maximum of 2 children per room.
Children 16 years and older are considered adults.

- Wild about... Leopards
- 1. This most elusive big cat is found in areas across Africa and Asia.
- 2. A leopard's beautiful spots - called rosettes - are as unique as fingerprints.
- 3. Leopards have the highest strength : weight ratio of all big cats and can kill prey larger than itself and drag it high up into a tree.
- 4. Unless mating, leopards are generally solitary, nocturnal animals that move extensively around their large home territory.
- 5. Leopards are cunning hunters and will eat anything from antelope and warthogs to birds and fish. There are over 90 species of animals on their menu!
- 6. At Sabi Sabi ... Leopard sightings - rare in many areas - happen daily at Sabi Sabi, where the animals are habituated to safari vehicles and unthreatened by humans.
